Scapes
Read MoreThe location we visited (Bay St. Louis, MS...next door to Waveland where the eye went ashore) is the area that was ground zero for Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This was actually my first trip back since I was there 2 weeks after the storm on a church relief trip. Very gratifying to see the recovery. If you didn't know what it was like before, you would never know what happened there. If you look more closely, you will see scattered empty lots with bare slabs where there previously were stately gulf front homes. The landscape has changed but thankfully this area has maintained it's quaint small town feel and the people have not changed at all.
